Marine Services organized two EARTH DAY events at KAUST this week.

Tuesday saw the KAUST Scout Group visit KAUST beach in order to clean up rubbish on the island, just offshore. The group used kayaks to paddle out to the island where they picked up all manner of litter including plastic, glass, carpet, and all sorts of different man-made waste. Wednesday hosted a boat trip within KAUST waters for Senior School students. The new Marine Services vessel, KAUST Marta was used for the fort time for the trip with a group of nearly 40 students.

Marine Research Scientist, Prof. Michael Berumen gave an informative presentation regarding the inhabitants of KAUST waters and the importance of the mangrove colonies. Nine of Michaels students came along and were able to answer questions and pass on information to the group.

Congratulations!
